Modern civilization is supported by a variety of organic compounds and is essential for human beings to live comfortably on the earth. For this reason, there is a strong need for low-cost mass supply of organic compounds with various functions, including pharmaceuticals. In our laboratory, we aim to realize highly efficient and selective catalytic synthesis reactions using precisely designed metal complexes in order to synthesize desired structures freely. In particular, we are currently engaged in the development of asymmetric synthesis using iridium catalysts, stereoselective reactions involving stereochemistry, position and functional groups, and the synthesis of new aromatic heterocyclic compounds using these reactions.
